Two way measuring tape ( The Dual Tape 90)

[Category : - Tools]
[Viewed 684 times]

The Dual Tape 90 is envisioned as a specially designed
measuring tape apparatus that combines two rulers into one
convenient product. In this manner, the unit would be able to
provide 90-degree, vertical and horizontal measuring at the
same time.
Similar in appearance to a standard single retractable tape
measure, this product would be square in shape, measuring
approximately three inches in length and width, and one
inch in depth. The Dual Tape 90's measuring blades would
be internally coiled within a metal casing, Mylar-coated for
added durability and featuring a dual bracket, metallic
anchoring hook at its proximal end. To ensure easy
measurements on both elevated and flat surfaces, these
tape measures could be designed with bold, easy-to-read
numbers on both sides of the blades. The Dual Tape 90
could also be made available in sizes ranging from fifteen to
twenty-five feet to better accommodate both small and large
measuring jobs.
Yet, unique to this product and what sets it apart from
standard tape measures is found in its aforementioned
duality. A lock latch on the back of the unit would secure the
two housings together, while a pivot point at the top of the
unit would allow the casings to be opened so that the two
are positioned at 90 degrees. As such, one ruler would
extend downward, vertically, while the other would extend
horizontally to the right so that the two cross each other,
again, at a 90 degree angle. As such, two measurements
can thus be taken at the same time. Whether stretched over
a table top, a section of floor or wall, or a simple piece of
plywood, the Dual Tape 90 is able to remain fully stable
against any outside interference that may cause the length
of tapes to collapse.
