The patent consists of a reservoir that can be built in a complete circle or any form of semi-circle, with preference on one-third and one-half circle. This reservoir, built to specific sizes based on the pot used for the plant, will sit on top of the pot, see pictures at patent site. The reservoir can stay on top of the pot at all times or may be removed after each watering for asthetic purposes. Built into the reservoir are drip emitters; the reservoir is filled with water and the drip emitters allow the water to flow over the soil at a rate of aproximately 2 gallons or less per hour allowing the soil to saturate evenly. After one or two waterings an exact amount of water will be determined by the waterer that does not allow over watering, preventing water from accumilating in the tray under the pot. The reservoir with its drip emitters allows a number of benifits which include reduced water waste, reduced watering, better soil saturation, ease of watering (simply fill the reservoir and let it drip), no mess, and no root rot.
