Potted Plant Watering Apparatus Using Drip System Reservoir

The patent consists of a reservoir that can be built in a complete circle or any form of semi-circle, with preference on one-third and one-half circle. This reservoir, built to specific sizes based on the pot used for the plant, will sit on top of the pot, see pictures at patent site. The reservoir can stay on top of the pot at all times or may be removed after each watering for asthetic purposes. Built into the reservoir are drip emitters; the reservoir is filled with water and the drip emitters allow the water to flow over the soil at a rate of aproximately 2 gallons or less per hour allowing the soil to saturate evenly. After one or two waterings an exact amount of water will be determined by the waterer that does not allow over watering, preventing water from accumilating in the tray under the pot. The reservoir with its drip emitters allows a number of benifits which include reduced water waste, reduced watering, better soil saturation, ease of watering (simply fill the reservoir and let it drip), no mess, and no root rot.

The reservoir may be built in to the pot using the material used to make the pot or made in either full circle or semi-circle segments using injection mould techinique (plastic). The latter is the way to go for ease of use, less production costs allowing the reservoir to be sold cheaply but with high profit margins. The injection moulds will run aproximately $5000 each but will produce thousands of reservoirs.

I had 1500 ceramic pots made in Mexico and another 500 celedan pots made in Thailand and sold them at a store in Tucson with great fanfare when the customer understood its conservation purpose and how easy it was to use. All 2000 pots were sold over a 7 1/2 month period. With our need to conserve our water this apparatus serves society well.

I am looking either for an investor to help in the developement and distribution or for a buyer of the patent. This system needs to be on the market!

After trying all the other watering devices for potted plants I know I have the best method.
