Sulfuric acid and waste for energy

[Category : - RENEWABLE ENERGY]
[Viewed 557 times]

The process delveloped is able to recover energy from organic waste destruction through a thermochemical flameless cycle with ened products Hydrogen (H2), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and, in a minor extent, Methane (CH4) and carbon oxide (CO).
The hydrogen can be conveniently used for energy production both in suited engines or fuel cells.

Hydrogen can also be used as raw materials in chemical process industry.

The process is based on the carbon compounds cracking in sulfuric acid joined to a Sulfur Iodine cycle with some advances from the original concept.

The process is NOx and Dioxine free because the process temperature in its hottest step is around 300°C and aromatic compounds are well sulfonated in sulfuric acid environment.

The use of a liquid acid phase allows to create small plants that are also tailored for small waste quantities treatment. Larger plants can be realized with multiple as modular systems.

A further benefit of the small plants is the opportunity for the installations on mobile vehicles as i.e. trucks where the best use is for on site treatments of toxical wastes.

Technology has been confirmed by certified institute.
