[Category : - SOFTWARES- Telecommunications]
[Viewed 2763 times]

The present disclosure relates to the network management systems and SDN Controllers, in particular for managing and initiating recovery actions across multiple systems, elements & devices. It relates to improving existing techniques and adding new functionalities to the realm of Software Defined Networks. It further relates to protocols and interfaces defined by SNMP, Openflow, OF-CONFIG standards which are used by the Network Management Systems & SDN Controller for performing various operations on the SNMP/Open flow supported elements/devices. More specifically, it relates to a process/method of communication for enabling the Network Management System OR the SDN Controller to Correlate & Control the sequence of recovery actions to be performed for the faults encountered & dynamically change the recovery action sequence based on the feedback received from the SNMP Agent OR from the open flow based systems/platforms/devices. The current invention is essentially about extending the ability to initiate & perform dynamic recovery actions in a network supporting both the traditional SNMP based management systems & Open flow based SDN Control. The current claim is based on the Priority claim: 2977/MUM/2014 filed on 18th September 2014 titled System and Method for Orchestrating Dynamic Recovery Actions for business services across traditional and SDN supporting Openflow Protocol.
