The development of modern molecular biology, biotechnology and medicine is dependent on availability of high-quality protein products. They are often produced in prokaryotic or eukaryotic expression systems. Recombinant proteins are usually fused with a short oligopeptide tag to provide fast and easy purification procedure based on the affinity chromatography technique.

The offer is a DNA aptamer that recognizes Arg-Tag.

DNA aptamers are single-stranded short DNA oligonucleotides characterized by high specificity and affinity to target molecule. In the present invention molecular target can be any molecule: peptide, protein or DNA derivative containing Arg-Tag.

are continued at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology
of the Jagiellonian University. Currently the Centre for Innovation, Technology Transfer and University Development (CITTRU) is looking for entities interested
in commercial application of the invention.
