Description:
This is a convenient and safe device for transporting a motorcycle, The device, named Bikebudi, is a compact, lightweight, wheel-less "trailer" that can transport a motorcycle weighing up to 230kg behind a motor vehicle. The Bikebudi is designed to accommodate motorcycles with a solid rear axel or a hollow rear axel, as in the BMW 1200 series. The motorcycle is transported by raising and locking the rear wheel into the Bikebudi so that the motorcycle is transported backwards with the front wheel on the road surface. Ratchet straps secure the front wheel alignment and ensure quick, convenient and safe transportation.
Problems solved:
Raising the rear wheel instead of the front wheel avoids damage to the front motorcycle forks during reversing maneuvers that is a common fault with the "front wheel raised" type of tow bracket.
Additionally, the "rear wheel raised" eliminates any potential damage to the motorcycle engine by gears engaging due to contact with a pothole whilst being towed. This is a common occurrence when the front wheel is raised and the rear wheel is on the road.
With the rear wheel raised, the front forks provide an ideal suspension system to soften the impact of uneven road surface conditions during transportation.
The compact, lightweight design enables easy one-person loading of a motorcycle and easy storage in the boot/trunk of the motor vehicle after transportation.

The research at the time indicated that there were an estimated 1,3 million motorcycles in the UK and 3,2 million in Germany apart from other countries (Italy, France, Holland, Belguim) that together have a significant number of motorcycles registered.
