Seat and cover lifting device comprising dual pedals C, D and rod operation, specifically adapted for a flush toilet, with automatic cable actuated flush when the seat cover is lowered. The dual pedal arrangement comprises an outer pedal and an inner pedal D. The outer Is linked via a rod to the toilet lid and when actuated serves to raise the toilet lid. The inner pedal is linked via a rod to the toilet seat, and when both pedals are actuated simultaneously the lid and seat are raised. The device comprises a flush actuation member F which engages with a flush control cable when the outer pedal is pressed. The flush actuation pulls the flush control cable, when the lid is lowered, ensuring that the toilet bowl is flushed when the lid is released or lowered.; The device comprises a retaining mechanism, which retains the lid and seat in the raised position until the pedal is actuated again. The device comprises a pair of damper A to ensure the gentle closure of the lid and seat. The device affords a hygienic and hands-free experience for the user of a toilet to which the device is fitted.
