A passenger reminder system for reminding a driver-caregiver, upon exiting a vehicle, that a passenger remains in the vehicle. The temperature inside a vehicle in the summertime can exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Of particular significance is leaving young children in the vehicle, because a small child is more vulnerable to temperature extremes. More than 400 deaths occurred in the United States due to hyperthermia (heat stroke) of children left in vehicles. Caregivers who have experienced this tragic situation frequently report they were too distracted or too busy to realize that a child was left unintentionally in the vehicle. Thus, there is a need for a passenger reminder system to help caregivers remember to remove a passenger from the vehicle. This patent apparatus can be manufactured and sold in retail stores or can be an item that can be produced into a vehicle from any car manufacturer.
