A wearable mount is disclosed for holding a portable electronic image capture device. The mount includes a base mount comprising an abutment portion configured securely attach the base mount, a cradle assembly attaching to the portable electronic image capture device, and a flexible arm connecting the base mount to the cradle assembly and permitting the user to adjust an orientation of the portable electronic image capture device.

The wearable mount “Third Arm” is a hands free versatile tablet/phone stand that has the flexibility to hold any tablet or phone exactly the way you want it. This stand is mobile and compact. It can be used ANYWHERE. The Third Arm will feature a durable, yet thin and light weight, flexible gooseneck arm that is attached to the wearer either around the waist (waist belt/fanny pack). At the end of the gooseneck arm, the end attached to the waist belt, hidden within the fabric, will be a light weight yet sturdy metal anchor acting as a stabilizer or a clip. This will ensure that the Third Arm will not tip once the added weight of a tablet is added. The waist belt/fanny pack option will have an adjustable elastic waist strap with a buckle design. The pocket will be constructed of stretchable material and will have separate zippered compartments. It will also be capable of holding personal items such as keys, money, credit cards, a cellphone with no larger than a 4.8 inch screen and much more. The pocket will be waterproof and ideal for sporting events.

The bracket is designed in such a way that the both front and rear cameras are free from obstruction. This will allow users to record video or take pictures while it’s mounted. The cradle allows for easy switching from portrait to landscape orientations or vice versa. The purpose of this invention is to provide hands free video and photo capabilities without hindering motion. The user will be able to wear/attach the invention to their person and take videos/pictures while out without having to hold their phone or tablet. The third arm will allow the user to move with the action and easily adjust the view all while enjoying the event. This is what makes the third arm different. It allows for freedom and ease of use when in crowded venues or events where the user needs to constantly reposition to capture the moment.

After considerable research we have found that there are two types of mountable cameras used in reality shows. One is the head mount and the second is the chest mount. The chest mount has a similar purpose but is completely different in design. The straps on the chest mount are adjustable to fit all sizes. It can capture immersive video and photo footage from the chest but it is designed for use with a camera only.

The “Third Arm, however, is not a mount that is regulated to a specific position on the body. The Third Arm is flexible enough that a person can make it head level or waist level by positioning the arm. It can be positioned to the left or to the right side of the user. It is completely versatile. It also has the added bonus of being compatible with any smart phone or tablet. It is not created for cameras. The Third Arm is for domestic everyday use.
