Two patents involve an eco-friendly aspartic acid polymer powder. When applied to an oil spill, it contains the spill by forming a containment envelope. The envelope can then be handled and stored. Later oil can be easily recovered with no damage to the environment. This patented technology is simple to apply, environmentally friendly, readily biodegradable and the oil is easily recovered. The recovered oil more than pays for the cost of the containment polymer and its application.
