The invention relates to a retractable device for information display, mounted on a motor vehicle roof, in particular commercial vehicles, such as taxi vehicles, driving school vehicles, advertizing vehicles or any other type of information-displaying vehicles. According to the invention, the device consists of a fastening plate (2) configured to be attached to a vehicle roof, having a roof-facing lower side (3) made of a magnetic material which facilitate the attachment onto the vehicle roof, a display device (1) coupled to the fastening plate (2), which is mobile in relation with the fastening plate (2) between an up and a down position, and an actuation system (20) for automatically changing the display device (1) between the up and down positions, while on the lower side (3) of the fastening plate (2) there is a metal frame (4) mounted by some fastening means, intended for fixing a plate (5) supporting the display device (1) and allowing its movement up and down.
