Energy systems at sea require maintenance as does any other man made system, however, performing maintenance at sea, where humans are not evolved to naturally be, is extremely difficult. The mechanisms provided in this section can be applied to any wave energy system.

Wave energy converters for instance, are designed to maximize motion when encountering waves, and are hard and sometimes hazardous to access for maintenance purposes.

Therefore, the present invention provides a system and method to carry out an installation and uninstallation of an energy system with a screw-driven cam locking mechanism that drastically simplifies the securing of mooring lines with the seafloor. The present invention comprises a screw-driven cam locking mechanism that can be readily locked or unlocked to a block that is coupled with the seafloor.
