Sparring Arms is my Patent Pending invention. The idea is to simulate sparring with an actual partner, maximizing practicing distance and range, bobbing and weaving, perfecting the jab.
Sparring Arms are two covered, foam rubber arms attached horizontally to the sides of the common heavy punching bag found in millions of garages, basements, back yards and gyms throughout our country. Additionally, my invention includes a strap system that allows for adjusting the height of the arms in order to accommodate younger (shorter) athletes. I came up with this idea back in 2013. Have made one prototype which I used until my heavy bag fell off the rafters in my garage. Tried to patent myself, but was too time consuming and legally technical beyond my knowledge. For various reasons, including the huge increase in the self defense industry, I finally contacted a Patent Attorney who was very enthusiastic about the idea. I just received from the USTPO acknowledgement of approval to accelerate my application due to my age(65). The Claims have been accepted as well after a few changes. There is no other product like Sparring Arms on the market.

Financial information

I am looking for a Buyer who will pay me a sum to be negotiated , for the right to use the name "Sparring Arms" and the right to manufacture the Patent Pending invention. Once initial sum is settled on, a licensing agreement would be negotiated betweeen Buyer and Inventor on a royalty percentage amount on units sold. Frequency of royalty payments and duration of royalty agreement would be negotiated.
Rival Boxing Gear has shown extreme interest in Sparring Arms.
I believe the potential for above average sales is excellent when considering the current popularity of Boxing, Martial Arts, self defense in general. This punching bag accessory could be sold to large Government Departments including the Military.
