Handle for sports equipment

Abstract
The tennis or padel racket is a tool that has seen, from the beginning, a great evolution that is not yet over.
Normally the development is focused on the materials, the frame and the ropes to improve the speed of the ball, the comfort of play for greater efficiency and for the health of the player since excessive vibrations can lead to pathologies in the limbs.
Generally, however, the handle is placed a little in the background. The only development in recent times has concerned only the material of the grip that wraps around the handle and that is the part in contact with the hand. Research has focused more on feelings of comfort and the problem of sweat that makes grip harder. These materials have reached a remarkable level at the expense of performance; greater comfort and less sensitivity.
The handle, however, has a very important function even if, apparently, simple and obvious.
Any shot made by the player requires a firm grip and during the game, depending on the type of shot (e.g., tennis forehand, backhand, volley), the necessary power (e.g., baseball) and the style of play, the grip can change.
During the game the change of grip is done without looking but using the tactile knowledge of the handle obtained with a lot of experience and training.
But as much training as you can do the grip with a standard octagonal handle is never precise and often you miss the shot precisely because the handle is wrong a little.
Applying a more or less deep groove on the faces of the handle (all and only a few) can increase the sensitivity since the groove accentuates the edges and the feedback is greater.
The sensitivity can be set further with the choice of the preferred grip or overgrip among the many on the market.
In addition to improving grip because it becomes more difficult for the handle to rotate at the time of the shot, it also improves the change of the handle during the game thanks to the greater sensitivity of the accentuated edges.
Regardless of the cross section of the handle (i.e., whether squared or rounded or cylindrical) the grooves can be applied to all faces or only to some according to the constructive needs or needs of the player.
