The invention is intended for dehumidification of air in the production of sulfuric acid by contact method.
The invention is aimed at improving the operational reliability of a drying tower for dehumidifying air in the production of sulfuric acid by using a heat-mass transfer nozzle made of polypropylene.
This result is achieved due to the fact that the proposed design of the drying tower for dehumidifying air in the production of sulfuric acid, in contrast to the known design, which includes a steel shell, lining, air inlet fitting, air outlet fitting, sulfuric acid inlet fitting, sulfuric acid outlet fitting, heat-mass transfer nozzle, support grate for heat-mass transfer nozzle, roof, switchgear, manhole for loading and unloading heat and mass transfer nozzle, bottom, heat and mass transfer nozzle is made of polypropylene, moreover, the ratio of the wall thickness to the outer diameter of the elements of the heat-mass transfer nozzle made of polypropylene is not less than 0.02.
Supplying a well-known drying tower for dehumidifying air in the production of sulfuric acid with a heat-mass transfer nozzle made of polypropylene with a wall thickness of at least 0.02 will eliminate cracking of the heat-mass transfer nozzle and thereby increase the operational reliability of the drying tower for dehumidifying air in the production of sulfuric acid. In addition, the combination of low cost, lower density and high values of allowable compressive stresses and elastic modulus during bending gives the heat-mass transfer nozzle made of polypropylene advantages in comparison with the heat-mass transfer nozzle made of acid-resistant ceramics used in the well-known drying tower for dehumidification in the production of sulfuric acid.
