Moving Weight Earthquake Stabilization Device for Buildings
[Category : - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING- OTHER]
[Viewed 12 times]
The moving weight earthquake stabilization device stabilizes tall buildings during earthquakes. The device counteracts the swaying of a tall building during an earthquake through the motion of heavy weights on a track, where the weights are sent back and forth on the track at the counteracting interval to the effect of the earthquake wave on the building opposite what would be the swaying motion directions of the building, thus balancing the building. Sensors away from the building measure the earthquake wave and direction, then the device is calibrated in real-time to face the correct direction, where the track of weights rotates, and the device is calibrated to send the weights back and forth on the track at the correct speed. The device has minimal thickness to fit between floors of a building. A single building could have an earthquake stabilizer between floors on different levels of the building. The earthquake stabilizer would prevent damage to tall buildings from earthquakes.
The global annual market for seismic protection devices is $1.53 billion. Since the device stabilizes buildings during earthquakes, preventing damage to the buildings, the device should be a needed addition to every building over a certain height in earthquake territories. As building owners are safety conscious, there should be a high demand for the device.
The patent family for sale or license includes 3 granted U.S. patents (EARTHQUAKE STABILIZATION DEVICE, United States of America, 11,339,581, 11,719,013, 11,993,952, Expiration Date 4/2/2041). This patent family’s granted U.S. patents are strong and provide comprehensive protection of this technology and variations of this technology.
