The Polymeric Matrix Electromechanical Actuator (PMEA) is a ‘polymeric strip’ where an electric conductor is partially or totally embedded in one side. Thanks to the ‘Joule effect‘ of the embedded conductor this ‘polymeric strip’ bend when the input current in the conductor exceed a pre-set value.
